The Supreme Court of the United States may issue GVR orders. It stands for grant, vacate, and remand. These orders are especially appropriate when there has been a change in the law subsequent to the lower court or agency's decision. GVR orders are designed to be efficient and thus are not full explications. Instead, the Court grants the Writ of Certiorari and remands the issue for reconsideration.
